Matt Bomer

Finally! Anyone who reads this blog knows I feel passionately about Matt Bomer playing the role of Christian Grey. He is the perfect embodiment of how this character was described physically. He is also a phenomenal actor who has that rare ability to steal every scene he is in. You can hardly tear your eyes away from the screen when he is on camera. When I think of the hottest, sexiest, most charming man on the planet- Matt Bomer is it. First, let me give you a little background on him.

Matt Bomer is known for his role as Neal Caffrey on USA Network’s White Collar. There he plays a charming, smart, and ridiculously good looking reformed white collar criminal. He’s a consultant for the FBI’s white collar crime division and has been proven invaluable when trying to crack cases. The show is a procedural with a back story so you can watch a one off episode. The new season starts July 11.

The science fiction thriller In Time is another recent film in which Bomer appeared. In it, he plays a 105-year-old man Henry Hamilton, who gives his "time" to Justin Timberlake before committing suicide, setting the main plot into motion.

Bomer is openly gay and is married with 3 children. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a degree in fine arts. Joe Manganiello and Bomer, who both star in the highly anticipated new Steven Soderberg film Magic Mike, went to college together and are good friends.

At the Magic Mike premiere on Sunday night, after Access Hollywood asked if he would be interested in the role of Christian Grey, Bomer said:

I need to read the book and see who the director is but it sounds amazing, From what I hear people are really into the story so I’ve got to check it out.

This is what fans have been waiting for! Matt Bomer is considering the role of Christian Grey – one which would inevitably be a star making role for him. Let's hope that he actually reads the book series and see's the opportunity in playing such a fascinating, complex character.

Do you think Matt Bomer should play Christian Grey?

Yes, Matt Bomer is the perfect Christian. Not Ian, he is not CG in my head. Not pretty enough.

So he's been asked by the press and has no idea about it, but knows there is a buzz, so he gave the best diplomatic answer you can in Hollywood....I need to read the book, but it sounds amazing... that way he's not taking his hat out of the ring, but not jumping up and down like Ian Somerhalder is. I'd watch Matt, gay or not makes no difference so long as he makes me believe it. I'd like to know if anyone's spoken to Henry Cavill about it...

  • Sabby Tuesday, 26 June 2012

Matt Bomer would be the ultimate. I could do with a few different Ana's but Matt is my #1 pick for Christian!!! I don't think Henry Cavill will do it. Too much going on with Superman.

@Christine- Ian just urks me that he is "jumping up and down" about wanting this part. Of course he does, he knows that his days in Hollywood are fleeting. I dislike people that go after parts because they are going to be the "next big thing" and that is what Ian is doing.
Matt looks a bit like Robert Pattinson to be honest and does have that Christian vibe about him. Although, I pictured Christian as having almost black hair am guessing he could die it though.

    So not true!

  • Jme1977 Tuesday, 26 June 2012

Sabby - when I saw this yesterday I was jumping up & down lol

Christine - yes it is a dimplomatic answer but it gives all us Matt Bomer supporters hope!

KL - Christian is described as having dark copper hair

I don't know. I really like Colin Egglesfield! But I am just so excited for them to start naming people for their roles.
