E L James' bestselling Fifty Shades Trilogy has been the publishing phenomenon of the year. So far, the massive success of the book series has lead to a movie deal, merchandising agreement, and a Fifty Shades of Grey inspired classical music album. While all of that news has been very exciting, there is still one thing that the legions of fans want the most - more books that tell the love story of Christian and Ana. So is a fourth book in the Fifty Shades series on the way?
If you take a look at the frequently asked questions on E L James' official site, she answers the question for fans.
Never say never - but they’re on the back burner at the moment, as I have a few other stories to tell first.
Celebrity gossip site Oh No They Didn't! is saying the opposite and has had fans going crazy with a report that an announcement of a fourth instalment in the Fifty Shades book series is imminent. According to the site, a new special edition magazine dedicated to all things Fifty Shades would reveal the exciting news to fans that a fourth book is on its way.
So is it true? I decided to ask EL James herself via Twitter this morning and she was quick to reply slapping down the rumour.

@ohfifty No.

@affittaine@ohfifty I'm thinking about it... but if I do it won't be for a while I have something else I'm working on.
That clears that up, but is there really a Fifty Shades themed magazine coming out? Absolutely! I was in touch with the publishers, Topix Media Lab, and they've confirmed that the special edition magazine - loaded with fun, Fifty inspired articles - will indeed be hitting stands at Barnes & Noble, Walmart, and select locations on August 28th. As for the story ONTD quoted from the glossy, that will remain a mystery until Tuesday. Either way, if E L James is working on a fourth instalment, it looks like she's keeping it under wraps for now.
Would you want to see a fourth book in the Fifty Shades series or are you happy with where the story left off?
I'm a real life sub, what my sir does to me is not horrible. its also nothing like the tame, repetitive and frankly misleading and poorly written contents of the fifty shades books. and yes, I've read all 3. I was hoping the writing and use of language would improve. sadly I was hugely disappointed. as far as I can tell, it seems to be those who don't know about or practice bdsm who enjoyed this trilogy. other subs and doms I know feel the same
I believe this book was written really good. As me being an ex sub to one of my ex's honestly I can relate to this book and how there relationship is in the book.
I think that the majority of women who read this trilogy could take it or leave it when it comes to the BDSM aspect of the books. It's the romance and growth of Christian and Ana's relationship that captured readers interest (well mine anyway) - not the BDSM.
It would have made a great story had it been well written
Who wouldn't t love the story re-told from Christian's POV?! That would be amazing! I would enjoy one more book that continued where FSF left off but that would probably be it.
I share your opinion... i would love a fourth book in Christian's POV...
i agree! i also cannot get enough. i would be very dissapointed if there was not a 4th book. Like she said at the end of the 3rd book. "Thas all for now" There has to be more. As soon as any1 knows, please let me know.
I would love to either see all three books from Christian's POV or I would like to see a fourth book picking up when Ana is still pregnant with their first child. I thought it was strange that she used three books to tell a 6 month story and then breezed over 2 1/2 years in one chapter. I'd like to know more about Ana's first birth and it's complications, their move into their new home, etc. I would not want to read a book about Christian before he met Ana as I think he would be a turn off. It's their story together that is so intriguing.
I agree. there should have been more detail after the pregnancy. Not just 2 1/2 years later and yes also what he was like before meeting Ana and what made him change his mind they way he did. etc. (sigh) i hope EL James does not let us down but not giving her fans what they NEED.
I totally agree with you
I would love a fourth book!!!! Keep us updated on Christian and ana![]()
I would love to have another book. I don't think I would like a full book of Christian before Ana, I don't think he was bad to his subs, but I think after a few chapters it would be the same thing over and over. Maybe a flash back or two, that could be fun. Or maybe in a few years something in the future with Ana and Christian, but there needs to be a break before that type of book. And yes, I would love to see the books from Christian's POV.
I would love a 4th book about ana and christian and i havent even finished freed yet. I'm taking my time reading because i don't want the story to end !!! 4th book PPPPPPPPPPPLLLLLLLLLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ ![]()
please need book 4 i finished the book in 1 week and on the 3rd time reading it within a month need the next chapter with the new house kids ana beening ceo of her company and with all of that there kinky f....n ![]()
I totally agree with you. I want to know more about what all happens
please can u sented the record stright as on fb and tweeter rumours that you hand the 4th book to your publisher and that with the movie of fifty shades of grey trilogy the 4th book was going to be the 4th movie please reply to this thank you
This article was suppose to clear that rumour up, please re-read. I also want to remind you that Oh Fifty is an unofficial fan site NOT EL James' official site.
so its true then
so then her publisher has already has it is there a release date on it yet all still to early for that
I like the idea of the books redone in Christian's point of view, but as for the story going on and on no thanks. I also don't think I'd be likely to enjoy anything from before Christian met Ana, him being horrible to his subs would be a turn off for me.
