We can finally put one casting rumour to rest and that is that Fifty Shades of Grey will not be starring Mila Kunis. The actress has finally ended the rumour that she will be playing Anastasia Steele in the upcoming film adaptation. At a recent press conference to promote her latest movie, Oz The Great and Powerful, UK's EntertainmentWise asked about the role and Kunis clear the rumour up once and for all.
Gosh, this Fifty Shades of Grey thing is just not gonna leave is it? No, you will not see me in Fifty Shades of Grey. I’m so sorry.
Instead Kunis suggested that her Oz co-star Zach Braff should star in it, a suggestion that he seemed willing to take-up.
When talking about her current role as the innocent witch Theodora who turns wicked the actress said:
Yeah it it was fantastic playing a character like that, I mean you’re lucky if you’re given any character that has any sort of arc, and here I was given a character with the most fantastical arc you could ever imagine.
There are no rules against it, there was no boundaries, formulas to follow, it was just have fun and I knew that I had Sam there to protect me and steer me in the right direction if I were to falter so I felt very safe, but I will not be in Fifty Shades of Grey I promise you.
Ok then, but Braff would not let her off that easy. When asked what spell he’d cast if given magical powers like the witches in the movie, he said:
I would cast a spell on Mila to have her do Fifty Shades of Grey.
Kunis seemed to enjoy the joke so at least they have a sense of humour about it. You can watch a clip of how it all went down here.
Too bad, so sad (not).
