Jamie Dornan

It's offcial!

Jaime Dornan is locked down to play smoking hot billionaire Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey and boy does he look good to me. I got on board with Charlie Hunnam, but I think Jamie Dornan – based on looks alone – is a much more suitable choice. Surely you could find some unflattering photos of Jamie if you wanted to, but with angles like these – why bother? He looks young and fresh and frankly, just as good as any image of Christian I had in my head. His acting credits may be a little light, but if he delivers, that will change.

Screenwriter Patrick Marber

The latest news is that the Fifty Shades of Grey script is getting some work done. Oscar nominated screenwriter Patrick Marber (Closer and Notes on a Scandal) has been brought on board by Team Fifty to do some polish and character work on the script written by Kelly Marcel. The Hollywood Reporter exclusively reported that Marber was hired last Friday, a day before Charlie Hunnam left the project. Much like recasting, script work is also par for the course in Hollywood and it's important to note that the award winning writer is doing polish on the script, not a rewrite.

Jamie Dornan - Theo James - Christian Cooke

Charlie Hunnan has exited the role of Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey. Fan reaction seems mixed, even though nearly everyone hated the idea at first. Charlie wasn't a bad choice at all in my opinion. He was really growing on me so much that when the news of his departure broke, I was actually disappointed. Below you will find Universal's official statement as to why Charlie left the the project.

The filmmakers of Fifty Shades Of Grey and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam’s immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey.

There has been a lot of doubt as to whether or not that statement is really true and if that was, in fact, the actual reasoning behind the decision. In the mean time, there has been a lot of speculation as to the "real" reason why Charlie departed.
