Jamie Dornan - Theo James - Christian Cooke

Charlie Hunnan has exited the role of Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey. Fan reaction seems mixed, even though nearly everyone hated the idea at first. Charlie wasn't a bad choice at all in my opinion. He was really growing on me so much that when the news of his departure broke, I was actually disappointed. Below you will find Universal's official statement as to why Charlie left the the project.

The filmmakers of Fifty Shades Of Grey and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam’s immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey.

There has been a lot of doubt as to whether or not that statement is really true and if that was, in fact, the actual reasoning behind the decision. In the mean time, there has been a lot of speculation as to the "real" reason why Charlie departed.

Henry Cavill

Henry Cavill fans are sure to be excited about a recent interview given by the Christian Grey fan favorite. In recent interview with Voices from Krypton, the Man of Steel star discusses how future roles will be impacted by Superman and his thoughts about suiting up again. More specifically, Henry is asked whether or not he felt that taking on a completely different role – such as the lead role in Fifty Shades of Grey – would be something he would be interested in. He didn't exactly say yes, but definitely hinted that playing Christian Grey would not be a problem for him.

Lovehoney Checklist

There has been no shortage of news, reports, rumours and fanfare regarding the highly anticipated Fifty Shades of Grey film adaptation. As we've learned from recent incorrect director reports and the false rumour that we would be hearing a casting announcement at Comic-Con, a lot of the Fifty Shades news has very little if any truth to it.

For a while it felt like we were being drip-fed information, but now that the film has producers, a screenwriter, a director, and a release date in place, there is no doubt that casting is next on the checklist. While everyone continues to guess who will portray Christian and Anastasia and how and when it will be announced, we now have some reason to belive that Ana could be cast first.

Actress Katrins Bowden

The latest Hollywood starlet to show interest in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey is 30 Rock actress Katrina Bowden. Opening up to Enstars about the films casting, the 24-year-old actress revealed she isn't interested in the lead role of Anastasia Steele, but she can see herself playing Ana's sexy and confident best friend, Kate Kavanagh.

Zack Snyder and Henry Cavill

It's a good day for Henry Cavill fans. We know the hunky actor, who's about to knock our socks off as Superman in a few weeks, is a top contender for the lead role in the Fifty Shades of Grey film adaption. He's one of our longtime favourites here at Oh Fifty and it turns out that Man of Steel director Zack Snyder is also a fan of the idea and has given his approval.
